21st Century Readiness for Every Student
The reality in preparing students for life in the 21st century focuses on understanding that the workforce they will be entering is global and requires different types of literacy skills. We believe it is critical that all Westonka students be technologically literate and develop proficiency in the essential skills of Communication & Collaboration, Creativity & Innovation, Critical Thinking & Problem Solving and Research & Information. Proficiency in these skills creates an Innovator’s Mindset in which each child understands that abilities, intelligence and talents can be developed in order to create new and better ideas and solutions to problems.
Westonka Public Schools addresses the changing needs of today’s students by transforming the method by which curriculum is delivered to students and the type of courses and educational experiences offered. This section highlights programs that represent our commitment to preparing students for a competitive and changing society and job market.
