Westonka Student Artists Earn Ribbons at State Fair
Student artists from Hilltop and Shirley Hills primary schools, as well as Grandview Middle School, participated in the annual art competition at the Minnesota State Fair this summer. Westonka Public Schools has historically had a high number of ribbon winners at the fair, and this year was no exception. Westonka students brought home dozens of ribbons, despite stiff competition from across the state.

Westonka Ranked No. 5 Minnesota District by SchoolDigger
In its new rankings for 2024, SchoolDigger ranks Westonka Public Schools as the No. 5 school district in the state out of 463 Minnesota districts. Westonka is first in the state among traditional public school districts. Additionally, Grandview Middle School ranks as the No. 7 middle school out of 545 in Minnesota. Shirley Hills and Hilltop primary schools rank 12th and 13th, respectively, out of 881 elementary schools in the state, and Mound Westonka High School ranks 15th out of 480 high schools.

Student Senate Plans MWHS Homecoming 2024
Mound Westonka High School Student Senate is gearing up for Homecoming Week 2024, which will be held September 16 - 21. The entire community is invited to participate in this year’s activities.

Westonka is Top 5 in 2024 State Assessments
According to data released Aug. 29 by the Minnesota Department of Education, Westonka Public Schools remains a high academic performer, with Westonka students scoring among the top in the state on spring 2024 assessments. Overall, Westonka had the third highest percent proficient in reading, the third highest percent proficient in math and the fourth highest percent proficient in science in the state of districts testing at least 100 students in a grade level.
