  • WeCAN Hosts 'Ready to Learn' School Supplies Drive

    The Western Communities Action Network (WeCAN) is starting its annual collection of new school supplies for K-12 students. Collection boxes will be at the following locations through August 15: Bethel Methodist Church, Christ Lutheran Church (Maple Plain), Westonka Early Childhood Center, Fairview Covenant Church, First Presbyterian Church (Maple Plain), Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Jubilee Foods, Klein Bank (St. Boni), Lyndale Lutheran Church (Independence), Minnesota Lakes Bank, Minnetonka Beach City Hall, Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Mound City Hall, Mound Evangelical Free Church, Mocha Monkey (St. Boni), Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Scotty B’s Restaurant, St. Bonifacius City Hall, St. John’s Lutheran Church, St. Martin’s by the Lake, Wells Fargo Bank - Mound, Westonka Library and the WeCAN office.

  • Get Creative for Homecoming 2017

    The Westonka Activities Department is excited to present the Homecoming 2017 button design contest. As part of the 2017-2018 Westonka Public Schools centennial celebration, we're bringing back the time-honored tradition of the Homecoming button. Westonka students in grades K-12 are eligible to participate.

  • School Board Candidate Filing Opens Aug. 1

    Filing to be a candidate for School Board in Westonka District 277 will open on Tuesday, Aug. 1 and will close on Tuesday, Aug. 15. Three school board members will be elected to four-year terms in the school district general election scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 7. On the same day, there will be a special election to fill the remaining two years of one term.

  • Rain Does Not Stop Westonka FUNd Run

    Despite the rainy, cold conditions, hundreds of students and members of the Westonka community participated in the third annual 5K FUNd Color Run on May 20.

    In what has become a rite of passage, Westonka's fourth-grade students, along with a group of staff and parents, recently spent an exciting week at the Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center in Finland, Minnesota.

  • Westonka Breaks Ground on New Community Facilities

    On the grassy knoll on the east side of Mound Westonka High School, ground was broken May 15 for the new Westonka Performing Arts Center and Westonka Activity Center.
