    A new greenhouse and gardening project at Hilltop Primary School this spring is designed to provide students with beneficial tools to help increase feelings of calm and relaxation. The project came about thanks to a grant from the Westonka District #277 Foundation.

    Fourth Graders Make Memories on Annual Wolf Ridge Trip

    In what has become a rite of passage, Westonka's fourth grade students, along with a group of staff and parents, spent an exciting week at Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center in Finland, Minnesota. For the second consecutive year and second time in the 45-year history of the trip, all the fourth graders from Hilltop and Shirley Hills primary schools attended Wolf Ridge together the week of May 20-24.

    Hilltop Families Participate in First 'Screen Free Week'

    Students at Hilltop Primary School participated in their first ever “Screen Free Week” May 13-18. Social worker Lori Springer explained that the intention behind Screen Free Week is to encourage everyone to turn off screens to connect with family, friends, nature and their own creativity.

    Westonka Employees, Volunteers Honored at District Recognition Event

    On a beautiful spring morning May 3, Westonka Public Schools staff and retirees gathered at the Westonka Performing Arts Center for the annual district recognition event. The program honored staff who had reached years of service milestones, the building and Westonka Teachers of the Year, the winner of the Ann Bremer White Hawks Award for community volunteers, and the district’s 2023-24 retirees.
