Provides for equal employment opportunity for all applicants for school district employment and school district employees, prohibits discrimination and harassment, and provides for grievance process.

Prohibits discrimination for all employees on the basis of disability in accordance with state and federal law.

POLICY 4110: HARASSMENT AND VIOLENCE
Maintains a learning and working environment freed from religious, racial, or sexual harassment and violence. Defines reporting procedures, investigation, school district action, and dissemination of policy and training.

POLICY 4116: DISTRICT OWNED VEHICLES
Encourages and promotes safe driving and transportation for all district employees, passengers, and third parties. All reports of unsafe driving will be thoroughly investigated and validated, and disciplinary action taken.

POLICY 4117: GUIDELINES FOR TEACHER PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
Teacher Performance Evaluation system includes: pre-observation, observation visits, pre- and post-visit conferences, evaluation instrument report, due process considerations, diagnosis, prescription and job target study. Identifies due process.

POLICY 4123: STUDENT TEACHERS
Authorizes the superintendent to enter into agreements with recognized teacher education institutions for the purpose of providing student teaching experiences for college recommended district-approved teacher candidates.

Principals, activities director and appointees share the responsibility for the success, vitality, and relevance of co-curricular programs, as they relate to continuance, change, or termination of appointments.

POLICY 4150: EMPLOYEE ABSENCES
Employees must work the specific amount of time in the employee's contracted work day. Defines responsibilities for leaves of absence, and consequences for misuse.

POLICY 4153: COMPENSATORY TIME
The district generally does not allow compensatory time. In exceptional cases compensatory time may be considered with pre-approval of the superintendent or designee.

POLICY 4160: EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The district recognizes that problems of a personal nature can have an adverse effect on an employee's job performance. The Employee Assistance Program is maintained to help deal with these problems.

POLICY 4217: SUPPORT STAFF EVALUATION
Personnel evaluation is to establish mutual understanding of employees' performance and expectations; provide assistance, communication, counseling, feedback, and positive, supportive experiences for personnel.

POLICY 4218: OVERTIME, OVERLOAD, AND SUBSTITUTE SUPPORT STAFF HELP
Establishes procedure for procuring part-time personnel to be employed on an overtime, overload, or substitute capacity, with approval of business administrator. Addresses emergencies.

The school district is dedicated to fostering an environment where every student is treated with respect and dignity. All staff are expected to offer guidance and support while upholding professionalism and adhering to high standards of conduct.

POLICY 4234: CRIMINAL OR CIVIL ACTION AGAINST SCHOOL DISTRICT, SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS, SCHOOL EMPLOYEES, STUDENTS, OR SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS
The District shall indemnify members of the school board, school employees and school volunteers past and present, from any and all tort claims or demands, subject to identified limitations.

POLICY 4235: HIGH DEDUCTIBLE HEALTH PLAN WITH FUNDED HEALTH REIMBURSEMENT ARRANGEMENT (HRA)
The purpose of this policy is to describe the high-deductible health plan and corresponding Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA). The HRA is funded through a tax-exempt trust under Section 115 of the Internal Revenue Code (the 115 Trust).

POLICY 4240: TEACHER LICENSE STATUS
Ensures that qualified teachers are employed by the District fulfills its duty to ascertain the licensure status of its teachers. Defines procedures and consequences for lack of compliance.

An employee shall be allowed to be absent from work to serve on a jury. Defines pay.

POLICY 4253: APPROPRIATE USE OF DISTRICT TELEPHONES
Addresses appropriate use of district-owned telephones, including desk sets and cell phones.

The purpose of this policy is to address employees' use of publicly available social media networks including: personal Web sites, Web logs (blogs), wikis, social networks, online forums, virtual worlds, and any other social media.
