POLICY 5040: STUDENT DRESS AND APPEARANCE
To enhance the education of students, the District has established
expectations of dress and grooming that are related to educational goals and community standards. -
POLICY 5070: CORPORAL PUNISHMENT
No employee or agent of the District shall cause corporal punishment to be inflicted upon a student to reform unacceptable conduct or as a penalty for unacceptable conduct.

POLICY 5080: EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR FOR CERTAIN STUDENTS WITH INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATION PROGRAMS
The District shall provide extended school year services to a student with an IEP if the student's IEP team determines the services are necessary in order to provide a FAPE.

POLICY 5107: STUDENT PARENTAL, FAMILY, AND MARITAL STATUS NONDISCRIMINATION
Students are protected from discrimination on the basis of gender, and marital status, pursuant to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and the Minnesota Human Rights Act.

POLICY 5108: STUDENT DISABILITY NONDISCRIMINATION SECTION 504
Protects students with disabilities from discrimination on the basis of disability and identifies and evaluates learners who, within the intent of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, need special services.

POLICY 5109: HAZING PROHIBITION
The District intends to maintain a safe learning environment for students and staff that is free from hazing. Includes definitions, reporting, consequences, reprisal, and dissemination.

POLICY 5111: EARLY ENTRANCE TO KINDERGARTEN ACCELERATION
The District routinely admits to kindergarten children whose fifth birthday occurs on or before September 1 of the academic year for which admission is sought. Exceptions criteria exist.

POLICY 5113: STUDENT ATTENDANCE
Encourages regular school attendance. Recognizes that class attendance is a joint responsibility to be shared by the students, parent or guardian, teacher and administrators. Lists responsibilities, procedures and consequences.

Identifies standards for eligibility for student enrollment under the Enrollment Options program, including eligibility, application, and bases for exclusion or termination.

To graduate, students must meet state requirements and must satisfactorily complete all District course credit requirements and graduation standards.

Students who have completed the graduation requirements are eligible to be honored with a commencement ceremony, including recognition of "students graduating with honors."

An act of bullying, by either an individual student or a group of students, is expressly prohibited on school district property or at school-related functions.

BULLYING REPORT FORM
Independent School District No. 277 maintains a firm policy prohibiting acts of bullying, by either an individual student or a group of students, or an individual adult or group of adults. If you wish to report an incident of bullying, complete this form and return it to a teacher, building principal, or the office of the superintendent. Completed forms may also be emailed to welisten@westonka.k12.mn.us

Sets forth the provisions to be followed when administering non-emergency prescription medication to students at school. Includes requirements and exceptions.

Presents policies and guidelines for access to the District computer system and acceptable and safe use of the Internet, including electronic communications. Defines uses, filters, limited privacy, and liability.

The District utilizes surveys to obtain student opinions and information about students. Establishes parameters of information that may be sought and guidelines for protecting student confidentiality.

Addresses student fundraising efforts. All fundraising activities must be approved by district administration.

No student will be excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or otherwise subjected to discrimination under any District educational program or activity on the basis of sex.
