  • Important Information Regarding MWHS Graduation 2025

    This is an important announcement regarding the upcoming graduation ceremony for our 2025 graduates. After consulting with the National Weather Service this morning, we are moving the ceremony indoors. While this change is unfortunate, we are dedicated to ensuring a meaningful celebration for our graduates.

    We look forward to celebrating the graduating Class of 2025. Graduation is a special moment for our students and their families. Seniors are celebrating the completion of thirteen years of education and families join us to honor their achievement. The 2025 Graduation Ceremony will be held in the Mound Westonka High School gymnasium, June 2nd at 6:00pm.

    Family and friends do not need tickets and we anticipate having room for all who plan to attend. Please keep in mind that we do offer a livestream of the event on our website. Please review further details related to Graduation Day below.

    Graduation Rehearsal

    • Attendance of ALL seniors is mandatory. 
    • Monday June 2nd at 8:35am: Students arrive at the Gymnasium.
    • This rehearsal is essential to ensure a smooth ceremony for all students.
    • The rehearsal takes approximately an hour and a half to two hours.  
    • It will be cold in the gym as we lower the temperature in preparation for the evening; students should dress accordingly

    Graduation Ceremony

    • Graduates are asked to arrive by 5:20pm in the WAC, where we will line up to prepare to enter the ceremony. 
    • Commencement is the most formal event of a student’s high school years, and the school district’s public acknowledgement of graduation. The cap and gown are formal educational attire. With this in mind, the following are suggested for graduates:
    • Dress slacks, skirt, or dresses
    • Dress shoes (no flip flops or overly casual footwear)
    • Dress shirt & tie presents nicely under the gown for photos
    • No shorts or sunglasses
    • We respectfully request students DO NOT alter their graduation caps
    • Graduates should not bring purses, cameras, bags, cell phones, etc., to the ceremony. Please leave these with a family member or in their car.
    • Gym doors will open at 5:30pm. Tickets to attend the ceremony are not needed. Seating for families will be available in the bleachers and on the court.  

    Parking

    • We strongly encourage graduates be dropped off at the school at their arrival time of 5:20pm. Drop off can occur in the courtyard. Graduates are bussed to the Senior All Night Grad Party after the ceremony. 
    • Families are highly encouraged to carpool if they are able to.

    Professional Photos on Graduation Night

    • Lifetouch Photography will photograph every graduate as they receive their diploma. To access your photos after the ceremony, text the code 35042Grad25 to 90738. 
    • At this time, there is an option to pre order, but after graduation the link will take you to view the photos taken the night of graduation. 

    Handicapped Seating Needs
