Westonka Public Schools is home to two National Blue Ribbon primary schools, Hilltop and Shirley Hills, each serving over 400 students in kindergarten through fourth grade. Our talented and caring teachers and staff are committed to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment where young minds blossom.
Westonka’s primary schools are models of academic achievement, fueled by innovative teaching practices and a dedicated community of educators, students and parents. Our students routinely perform at the top in the state on standardized assessments.
With a focus on knowing every student and family, our schools strive to prepare young learners not only academically but also socially and emotionally for the exciting journey ahead. The gold standard social-emotional learning program, Second Step, supports students’ development of emotional intelligence, empathy and problem solving. At Westonka, we encourage creativity, instill a love for exploration and discovery, and inspire a lifelong passion for learning, setting the foundation for success in each child's educational journey.
Adventure Club, the district's school-age care program, offers optional supervised care before and/or after school. Breakfast and lunch are available every day and are free for all kindergartners.
