    Mound Westonka High School has chosen seniors Isaac Hays and Rachel Jensen to represent the school at the regional Triple “A” Awards banquet. A recognition ceremony for the state-wide winners will be held in March. Sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL), the Triple “A” Award—Academics, Arts and Athletics—is a unique recognition program designed exclusively for Minnesota high school seniors who have excelled in the classroom, on the athletic field and in the fine arts.

    A team of Grandview Middle School students competed in the High-Tech Kids FIRST LEGO League Regional Tournament on Dec. 14 at Holy Family High School. The FIRST LEGO League, which introduces science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to children through fun, exciting hands-on learning, is intended to be a feeder program for the successful robotics team at Mound Westonka High School.

The back-to-back grade level concerts are an annual event, but this year’s concerts marked the end of an era for band director Roger Whaley, who will be retiring at the end of the year after 31 years of teaching band to Westonka students.
