Westonka Teacher of the Year Award

  • Westonka Education Minnesota is proud to present the Westonka Teacher of the Year program. Nominees for the annual award must meet the following criteria:

    • teach pre-kindergarten through 12th grade,
    • hold at least a bachelor's degree and a Minnesota teaching license,
    • have completed at least three full years of teaching by nomination deadline, and
    • intend to teach during the next school year.

2018-2019 Nominations Now Closed

  • Nominations for the 2018-2019 Westonka Teacher of the Year Award are now closed. The winner will be named at the Staff Recognition Banquet on May 1.

2017 Minnesota Teacher of the Year Corey Bulman

    Westonka Schools is proud to announce that Corey Bulman, an English teacher at Mound Westonka High School, was named the 2017 Minnesota Teacher of the Year. Bulman is the 53rd recipient of the state's top teaching award and the first from the Westonka district.

  • Westonka Names Teacher of the Year, Honors District Volunteers

    During an evening ceremony May 1 at the Lafayette Club, Grandview Middle School teacher Dr. Deb Castner was named 2019 Westonka Public Schools Teacher of the Year. Also recognized were this year's building teachers of the year, as well as the recipients of the Ann Bremer White Hawks Award for community service, Lynne Robertson and John and Judy Lewman.

  • District Names Teacher of the Year, Presents Community Service Awards

    A crowd of Westonka staff, school board members and community supporters gathered in the Mound Westonka High School Little Theater on May 4 to see Shirley Hills Primary School teacher Jennifer Naslund be named 2018 Westonka Public Schools Teacher of the Year. Also recognized at the morning ceremony were this year's building teachers of the year, as well as the recipients of the Ann Bremer White Hawks Award for community service, Jeff Fish and Scott Brown.

    In front of a crowd of Westonka staff, school board members and community members gathered in the Mound Westonka High School Little Theater on May 5, MWHS English teacher Corey Bulman was named 2017 Westonka Public Schools Teacher of the Year. Also recognized at the morning ceremony were this year's building teachers of the year, as well as the recipients of the Ann Bremer White Hawks Award for community service, Robert Moulton, Jennifer Velarde and Howard Leopold.
