  • Technology is an important part of our world and an important part of our schools. Westonka Public Schools believe technology has the power to transform education by increasing student learning and student engagement.

    Digital citizenship, responsibly using the internet, is a critical part of what we will constantly be communicating to all students. We would like have a common voice with you as a parents. We have adopted 6 simple statements: Protect yourself, Protect others, Respect yourself, Respect others, Respect intellectual property, and Protect intellectual property.

    We recommend a fantastic website to parents called Common Sense Media. The content is updated daily, and they have wonderful reviews and articles on current media topics.

    • Common Sense Media - provides education and advocacy for parents to promote safe technology and media use.
    • Family Online Safety Institute - Good Digital Parent is a blog with tips on raising kids with technology.
    • Connect Safely - Provides parents with tips and advice, as well as resources and parent guides to popular apps like Instagram and Snap Chat.

Digital Technology Tools

  • Westonka Public Schools uses a variety of digital tools to support student learning. Technology vendors and software are utilized to support work as we help all students develop the skills necessary to succeed in an ever-changing world. 

    Please reference our inventory of our curriculum, testing, and assessment tools, which includes an outline of the student data elements within each tool: Software Inventory and Student Data Elements. This list is maintained and communicated annually to all families at the start of the school year.
