We want you to fill out & return the Educational Benefits Application:
- Summer-Electronic Benefit Transfer (eligible students will receive $40 per summer month = $120 total payment from MDE & DHS).
- Potential scholarships for school fees, ap testing, field trips & college applications, etc.
- Increased funding for direct student instruction.
- Athletic & activity fee reductions at MWHS Athletics.
- Discounts on community attractions such as the MN Children’s Museum, internet, etc. and other programming.
If your household income is equal to or less than the maximum total income chart below, be sure to complete and submit the Educational Benefits Application.

Milk Allergies & Intolerance
State law (Minnesota Statutes 124D.114) requires a Sponsoring Authority of school meal programs to provide an alternative for a student with lactose intolerance if the parent has requested an alternative in writing.
Please complete the form below if you need to request lactose-reduced milk for your child and forward it to Food & Nutrition Services. If you have any questions, please contact Laura Metzger, RD Director Food & Nutrition Services at (952) 491-8084.Important Note: Juice or water is not recognized by the Minnesota Department of Education and USDA as an approved substitute for lactose intolerance. The currently approved substitute that Food & Nutrition Services provides is: Mulu.

Affordable Connectivity Program
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) provides eligible households a discount of up to $30 per month off their internet bills (or up to $75 per month for households living on Tribal lands), as well as a one-time discount of up to $100 off an eligible connected device like a laptop, desktop computer or tablet. In many cases, households can get high-speed internet without paying a dime by choosing a fully covered internet plan.
This announcement serves as a reminder that a household is eligible to participate in the ACP if a child in the household receives free or reduced-price school meals.
Households can learn more and apply for the ACP at GetInternet.gov.

*Summer - Electronic Benefits Transfer
Westonka Foodies' task for the new S-EBT program is only to upload eligible student data to the Mn Department of Education portal. MDE and DHS have not shared card distribution information with schools because families can continue to sign up for this program over the summer.
It is likely distribution will be in August 2024.

LINQ Connect Family Portal

Westonka Foodies uses the Titan/ LINQ Connect point of sale system for school breakfasts and lunches. LINQ provides user-friendly solutions for families.
LINQ Connect Family Portal allows families to:
- Make online payments to your student's Westonka Foodies accounts (service fee will apply)
- Remotely monitor your student's Westonka Foodies accounts.
- Set up automatic, recurring payments.
- Set up low balance email or text alerts.
- Set up à la carte spending limits on your student's account.
- Submit an online application for Educational Benefits.
- Completing an Educational Benefit Application will be critical for school funding as well as approval for lowering school fees, activity/athletic registration discounts, etc.
