  • Westonka Aquatics Learn-to-Swim Program

At Westonka Aquatics, our Learn-to-Swim program is built with safety and proper swim stroke development at its core. We understand that every swimmer progresses at their own pace—that’s why our program is designed to meet each swimmer’s needs first by age, and then by ability.

Our curriculum is adapted from best practices recommended by USA Swimming, and other nationally recognized learn-to-swim programs, all customized to suit the unique needs of our Westonka community.

This developmentally appropriate program teaches swimmers of all ages how to swim confidently, safely, and skillfully.

A Customized Path for Every Swimmer - Program Structure & Progression

    • Swimmers are placed into levels based on age and then assessed for skill level (Novice, Intermediate, or Experienced).
    • Each level includes eight 30-minute lessons focused on water safety and stroke development.
    • It’s common for swimmers to take multiple sessions within a level to master the required skills.
    • The first class includes a brief skills assessment to ensure proper level placement.
    • Swimmers must successfully demonstrate all exit skills before advancing to the next level.

Our instructors use a variety of engaging, age-appropriate techniques to create a fun, safe, and challenging learning environment.
