The Westonka School District serves approximately 2,300 students, grades preK-12:

• Early Learning Center (early childhood and preschool)
• Hilltop Primary School (grades K-4)
• Shirley Hills Primary School (grades preK-4)
• Grandview Middle School (grades 5-7)
• Mound Westonka High School (grades 8-12)
• Westonka Transition Plus (ages 18-21)

'Best in State' MCA Performance

Westonka students, from the primary schools to the high school, scored in the Top 5 districts in the state on 2024 Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCAs) and Minnesota Test of Academic Skills (MTAS). Overall, Westonka had the third highest percent proficient in reading (75%), the third highest percent proficient in math (74%) and the fourth highest percent proficient in science (64%) in the state of districts testing at least 100 students in a grade level in 2024.

Grandview Middle School ranks as the 7th "Best Middle School" in Minnesota, according to U.S. News & World Report.

U.S. News & World Report 'Best High Schools'

MWHS ranks as the 32nd "Best High School" in Minnesota, according to U.S. News & World Report for 2024.

National Blue Ribbon Primary Schools

Both of Westonka's primary schools have been awarded National Blue Ribbon Awards by the U.S. Department of Education for "exemplary education."

MDE School Finance Award

Westonka Public Schools received the 2024 School Finance Award from the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), which recognizes school organizations for sound financial management policies and procedures.

Home of 2017 Minnesota Teacher of the Year Corey Bulman

Mound Westonka High School English teacher Corey Bulman was named 2017 Minnesota Teacher of the Year.
