  • Westonka Names 2018-2019 Building Teachers of the Year

    Westonka Education Minnesota kicked off American Education Week Nov. 13 by announcing the 2018-2019 building Teachers of the Year. Congratulations to this year's honored educators: Annemarie Brockopp from Westonka Early Learning, Theresa Schmidt from Hilltop Primary School, Scott Lhotka from Shirley Hills Primary School, Deb Castner from Grandview Middle School and Laura Hensley from Mound Westonka High School.

  • Support the Westonka Foodies Angel Fund on Give to the Max Day

    Thursday, Nov. 15 is Give to the Max Day 2018. On this annual day of giving, please consider making a donation to support the Westonka Foodies Angel Fund, which is used to pay breakfast and lunch meal account charges for students who may otherwise go without food during the school day.

  • Rotary Interact Club Service Project Supports U.S. Troops

    Deployed U.S. troops will receive some holiday cheer in the mail this winter thanks to the Mound Westonka Rotary Interact Club. Interact Club members worked with students from every Westonka school to create over 200 handmade cards that will be sent overseas through the Operation Gratitude program.

  • Faculty Artwork on Display in PAC Gallery

    Members of the Westonka Public Schools K-12 Art Department installed on Oct. 26 a series of original artwork now on display at the new Westonka Performing Arts Center. There will be a reception on Nov. 8 from 5-7 p.m. in the PAC, where visitors will have the chance to view the artwork, talk with the artists and take in the beautiful new gallery space.

  • Busy Week for MWHS Bands

    The Mound Westonka High School Pep Band was busy this week, performing both a benefit concert and the traditional Halloween concerts. The Oct. 29 concert at the new PAC raised nearly $1,400 for the Westonka Food Shelf, while the annual Halloween concerts offered some spooky entertainment for students in the younger grades, as well as residents of Lake Minnetonka Shores.

  • Students Unite to Fight Bullying

    Students across the Westonka School District stood up to bullying on Oct. 24 by wearing orange to celebrate Unity Day, a movement designed to bring everyone together to stand against bullying and be united for kindness, acceptance and inclusion.
