Early Learning Announcements

  • 2019-2020 Preschool Online Registration Process:

    Our registration process for current families & district staff begins on Jan. 23, 2019 at 8:00am.

    Our registration process for the general public begins on Jan. 30, 2019 at 8:00am.   

    Registrations are approved in the order in which they are received in our online registration system.  Contracts will not be approved unless they are complete.  A completed registration will include:

    • Online Registration at www.westonkace.org
    • Completed Early Childhood District Registration Form is turned into the Early Childhood Center office at 5241 Shoreline Drive, Mound or scanned to millert@westonka.k12.mn.us.
    • Completed Health Care Summary Form is faxed from your child's clinic to our Early Childhood Center.
    • Completed Immunization Form is turned in the Early Childhood Center.
    • Your account online will be charged a $55 non-refundable registration fee ($45 registration fee, $10 activity fee) upon approval of your contract.

    Classes fill quickly, get your forms turned in NOW and be ready for the online registration system to open.

  • Westonka 5K FUNd Run Sponsors Needed

    The Fifth Annual Westonka 5K FUNd Run will be held Saturday, May 18. This fun community event raises funds for Mound Westonka High School, Grandview Middle School and Shirley Hills and Hilltop primary schools. Be a part of this year’s success by becoming a sponsor.

  • ‘A Night with Community Leaders’ Rescheduled for March 13

    Westonka Community and Commerce invites area residents to hear the community’s plans for 2019. “A Night with Community Leaders” will be held Wednesday, March 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Westonka Performing Arts Center.

  • Brave the Elements at the First Polar Plunge in Mound

    Brave souls from Westonka have accepted that challenge: Minnesota Nice meets Minnesotan Ice! Once again, the Westonka Special Education Advisory Council will be participating in the Special Olympics of Minnesota Polar Plunge as Team Westonka. For the first time this year the Plunge is taking place in Mound, on Jan. 26 at Surfside Park.

  • Nominations Now Open for 2019 Ann Bremer White Hawks Award

    Nominations will be accepted through Feb. 28 for the 2019 Ann Bremer White Hawks Award. The award recognizes some of the many dedicated volunteers who offer exceptional service to our school community. Any Westonka staff member, parent or community member may nominate candidates for the award.

  • Schools Collect Donations for WeCAN

    Students at every school in the Westonka School District embraced the holiday spirit throughout December by collecting a variety of items for families served by Western Communities Action Network (WeCAN). Additionally, staff members at the schools and the Educational Service Center also participated in WeCAN's Adopt-A-Family program.

  • Angel Fund Covers Districtwide Negative Meal Account Balances

    The Westonka Foodies are overwhelmed by the community’s support this year of the Angel Fund, which is used to pay breakfast and lunch meal account charges for students who may otherwise go without food during the school day. Due to the large number of gifts, including some substantial donations, the Westonka Foodies are able to wipe out negative lunch account balances district wide.
