Welcome to Shirley Hills
-
My name is Scott Eidsness, and I am honored to be principal at Shirley Hills Primary School. Westonka Public Schools is a wonderful district full of great kids, wonderful families and dedicated staff. I have unique insight into our district. I have taught or have been an administrator in three of the four schools in the district, and I am a parent of Westonka students. It is with complete confidence that I can say your child(ren) will flourish as they enjoy their small school experience with big school opportunities!
Let me tell you a little about Shirley Hills. We are a neighborhood school located in Mound, MN. We have over 400 students in grades K-4. Shirley Hills is a National Blue Ribbon School (awarded in 2008), and our students routinely finish in the Top 10 in the state in both reading and math proficiency.
Our curriculum is stimulating and challenging to meet the needs of each of our students. In addition, Shirley Hills is a Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS) school that is dialed into positive culture building and character development. We strive to meet the needs of the whole child by using the Second Step social-emotional learning curriculum each morning.
Lastly, the future is bright here at Shirley Hills. We have a clear focus on developing 21st century skills through a personalized learning path for each student. With the help of numerous technology devices and software applications, we help students develop their own learning paths and guide them to mastery of established standards in a way that aligns more with future work environments.
I look forward to welcoming your family to Shirley Hills!
Sincerely,
Scott Eidsness, Principal

“As alumni we experienced first hand the support to thrive from administrators, teachers, and coaches. The memories we have as White Hawks are ones we will cherish forever. To have the opportunity to give our children this same experience was an easy choice."
