April 28, 2022 — Students at Grandview Middle School gathered at school on Friday night, April 15, for the Spring Fling. The annual party was open to all students and included a DJ and dance, open gym, dodgeball, karaoke, crafts, movies, a creative photo booth and snacks. This year’s event had a sport theme, so many kids came dressed in their athletic gear.

“Spring Fling was our last dance/activity night for the year,” said Libby Ackerson, student council advisor. “Kids had a great time dancing, singing karaoke, winning bingo, and playing some intense games of dodgeball.”

Principal Christy Zachow said, “This was a fun event for the kids sponsored by our Student Senate and supervised by parent and staff volunteers. Now we just need ACTUAL spring!”

Student Council members, along with some great parent volunteers, helped decorate and set up for the event. Dozens of amazing parent and staff volunteers helped chaperone to make sure that each room was supervised, food was provided, the gyms were safe, pictures were taken and that things ran smoothly.

“We had many wonderful teacher and parent volunteers to help make the event a success!” said Ackerson. “We had a great night!”
