POLICY 8330: FORMULATION OF ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATIONS
Revised: May 3, 2021
I. PURPOSE
The purpose of printed and codified Administrative Regulations is to ensure clarification, uniformity, and continuity of administrative implementation of school board policy.
II. RESPONSIBILITY
The Board delegates to the Superintendent the responsibility for developing and implementing such Administrative Regulations as may be necessary to carry out Board policies. The Board will approve the regulations when such approval is either required by law or otherwise deemed to be advisable.
III. PROCESS
- Administrative Regulations will be properly coded to match the School Board policy number which they are designed to implement. Regulations will be amended to conform to amended Board policies.
- The Superintendent shall maintain a file of Administrative Regulations containing directives, explanations, processes and instruments for the implementation of school board policy.
- Among other items, a schedule of common or recurring rates and charges shall be published in Administrative Regulations, along with terms and conditions of employment not covered by contracts and service agreements between the school board and employees.
- Rates and charges negotiated by the school board, if not otherwise contained in contracts, shall be placed in Administrative Regulations only with approval of the school board.
- To avoid passage of policy in emergency, the school board, by directive or formal action, can give a draft policy the status of Administrative Regulation, pending final adoption by the school board.
