Angel Fund Covers Districtwide Negative Meal Account Balances

December 20, 2018 — The Westonka Foodies are overwhelmed by the community’s support this year of the Angel Fund, which is used to pay breakfast and lunch meal account charges for students who may otherwise go without food during the school day. Due to the large number of gifts, including some substantial donations, the Westonka Foodies are able to wipe out negative lunch account balances district wide.

The Angel Fund supports families struggling to keep up financially but do not qualify for free or reduced price meals. No Westonka student will ever be denied a meal due to the inability to pay. However, donated dollars help to ease the stress of students that do not have enough money in their accounts to cover school meals.

All negative meal account balances will be paid over Winter Break. If you would like to contribute to the Angel Fund, please consider making an online donation. There are no service fees for making a donation on the Westonka Foodies Angel Fund webstore. A $25 dollar donation will cover one student's breakfast and lunch for one week.

UPDATE 1.2.2019 - Westonka Foodies cleared 267 student negative accounts totaling $4,684.70 over Winter Break. Thank you for your generous support of the Angel Fund in 2018!
