Kishore Thakurdial Named January Winner of Westonka Way Award
January 20, 2020 — Westonka Public Schools custodian Kishore Thakurdial has been named the January 2020 recipient of the Westonka Way Award. The monthly award celebrates non-licensed Westonka Schools staff members who go above and beyond for families, students and other staff—because that's the Westonka Way!
Thakurdial has been working as a custodian in the district since 2008, starting as a part-time employee before moving into his current full-time role. One nominator called Thakurdial “an all-around delight” to have working in the Westonka School District. "Kishore is always happy, joyful and full of energy," the nominator wrote. "He gets along with everyone and is fun to be around."
"He is very diligent about doing a good job and takes pride in his work," the nominator added. "He keeps our ESC building in tip-top shape and will willingly do extra cleaning tasks asked of him."
Another nominator wrote: "I once complimented Kishore on his sons' attendance (they ALWAYS have perfect attendance) and he told me he had only missed one day of work during his time in Westonka. How is that possible?! His work ethic is incredible and anyone who crosses paths with him gets nothing but positivity. He is so dedicated and represents us so well, and I am so grateful to have him in Westonka."
