Allison Munsell Named May Winner of Westonka Way Award
May 14, 2025 — Business Services Coordinator Allison Munsell has been named the May 2025 recipient of the Westonka Way Award. The monthly award celebrates non-licensed Westonka Public Schools staff members who go above and beyond for families, students and other staff—because that's the Westonka Way!
Allison joined the district in August 2021 as the business services coordinator. Her responsibilities include managing accounts payable, reconciling credit card and Amazon statements, supporting budget processes, and serving as a liaison with vendors and building administrators.
A nominator wrote, “Allison is amazing! She is constantly finding new ways of saving the district money, is innovative in her approach to her very difficult job, is very respectful in her sometimes difficult interactions when reminding staff of fiscal processes and responsibilities, and is always willing to assist with finding answers (or receipts).”
Allison’s dedication doesn’t stop there. Another nominator wrote:
Allison is an active member of the unofficial “Funtime Committee,” helping to create a positive work environment that benefits everyone in our building. Her efforts contribute significantly to boosting morale and fostering a sense of community.
Moreover, Allison is committed to her professional growth, always eager to learn and develop new skills. She takes great pride in being a Westonka employee and is a dedicated mom to her three White Hawks.
On Wednesday morning, Superintendent Kevin Borg was joined by Finance Director Kathy Miller, District Accountant Pat Regan and the administrative assistants group to present Munsell with a special plaque and two gift certificates for the Al & Alma’s Signature Sunday Brunch Cruise on Lake Minnetonka.
This is the last Westonka Way Award of the 2024-25 school year. The award will be presented monthly again next year. To nominate a non-licensed employee for the award, please use the Google Form.
