January 8, 2025 — On Monday night, Jan. 6, the Westonka School Board approved changes to the 2024-25 school calendar, impacting the last two days of school at Grandview Middle School and Mound Westonka High School. 

To accommodate extensive summer construction, middle and high school students will not be in their school buildings on June 2 and 3, 2025. Grandview students will spend a half-day at the Westonka Activity Center on Monday, June 2, and visit Valleyfair on Tuesday, June 3. MWHS students will have Digital Learning Days on both Monday and Tuesday. Please see further details below.

Grandview Middle School

Monday, June 2, 2025 - Half Day at Westonka Activity Center

• Schedule: 
  • The planned full-day schedule for Grandview students will now be a half-day (8:10-11:50 a.m.) at the Westonka Activity Center (WAC), 5903 Sunnyfield Rd E, Minnetrista
• Transportation:
  • Morning buses will run as usual but will transport Grandview students directly to the WAC
  • Students not riding the bus should be dropped off at the WAC between 7:50 and 8:10 a.m. More instructions to come.
• Activities: Students will enjoy a half-day of activities and picnic lunch at the WAC.
• Dismissal: School will dismiss at 11:50 a.m. Students will either be transported home by bus or can be picked up at the WAC at 11:50 a.m.

Tuesday, June 3, 2025 - Valleyfair Field Trip

• Schedule: No changes to Grandview's arrival/dismissal schedule (8:10 a.m.-2:50 p.m.)
• Transportation:
  • Buses will run on their regular morning schedule but will transport Grandview students to the Westonka Activity Center before heading to Valleyfair
  • Students not riding the bus should be dropped off at the WAC between 7:50 and 8:10 a.m. More instructions to come.
  • Parents will pick up students at Mound Westonka High School after Valleyfair. More details to come.
• Activities: Students will enjoy an all-day field trip at Valleyfair
• Dismissal: Buses will return to the high school parking lot at 4:30 p.m. Parents will pick up students at the north doors. More details to come.

Mound Westonka High School

Monday, June 2, 2025 - Digital Learning Half Day (8:20-11:55 a.m.)

• Schedule: 
  • MWHS students and staff will continue with the half-day finals schedule (8:20-11:55 a.m.) but all classes will be held online. Students will use their school-issued Chromebooks to access classes from home.
  • All staff (certified and non-certified) must report for a full day at the high school building. Outside of finals, staff will be packing up their classrooms and miscellaneous items to accommodate summer construction.
  • The school will offer in-person services for special education students. Students without internet access, or those who choose to come to the school for finals, will have access to the building. Lunch will be available upon request (more details to come).
• Transportation:

  • Buses will depart from school at 12:05 p.m.
