September 26, 2024 — Mound Westonka High School seniors Tor Erdahl and Jagger Wittine have been named Commended Students in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. This achievement comes in addition to the two National Merit Semifinalists MWHS celebrated earlier this month.

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized this year for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2025 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students on the PSAT in 2023.

This week, Principal Jolene Herfel presented Erdahl and Wittine each with a Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation. "It's a wonderful honor to have done so well," Herfel said.
