Tommy's Trees Fundraiser Benefits Those in Need

Tommy's Trees Fundraiser Benefits Those in Need

November 7, 2023 — Tommy’s Trees is a holiday giving collaboration between Western Communities Action Network (WeCAN) and the BeLikeTommy Project. What is a Tommy Tree? A Tommy Tree is a 4-foot artificial tree with colored lights. When purchased, your tree will be delivered to your home for all to see and enjoy this holiday season (homeowners provide power).

Here’s the best part! When you purchase a Tommy Tree for $40, the BeLikeTommy Project, in partnership with a handful of local families, will be making a $50 donation to WeCAN to support a family in need this holiday season. Your Tommy Tree is a proud display of Tommy’s bright light and joy, and the kindness you have offered to others in need this holiday season.

“For the BeLikeTommy Project, WeCAN is the perfect partner for Tommy’s Trees as we look to deliver on our mission of bringing joy to others in need,” said Kevin Nash, Tommy’s dad. “WeCAN has direct access to those people and families and shares that focus.”

The BeLikeTommy Project will be hosting their 2nd Annual Golden Gala on November 18, at 7 p.m. at Gale Woods Farm.  Representatives from WeCAN will be onsite promoting and selling Tommy's Trees. There are still tickets remaining. Registration for the Gala and the link to purchase a Tommy Tree can both be found at www.BeLikeTommy.org.

The BeLikeTommy Project was created to honor the kindness and joy of Tommy Nash following his passing from sudden cardiac arrest in December of 2021. The group’s mission is to keep his loving spirit alive by caring for the hearts of others, both physically and emotionally.

Mound Westonka High School DECA has created a chapter project supporting the BeLikeTommy Project. The group conducts multiple events to help raise awareness about the project. DECA is a school-sponsored organization that allows students to learn more about the business/marketing world and use those skills to compete against other students around the country.
