Back-to-School Registration in Skyward Family Access

August 5, 2022 — In preparation for the 2022-23 school year, we are asking that all families  log in to Skyward Family Access and complete the Back-to-School Online Registration. Please take time to complete the registration, as is contains important information and forms for the upcoming school year. You will also be able to pay any student fees and make food service payments in Skyward. All of the forms listed below are part of the online registration as well. Online registration must be completed by Thursday, August 18.

Transportation Registration

All Westonka Public Schools families are asked to share their transportation plans in Skyward Family Access by Thursday, August 18 to guarantee transportation for the upcoming school year. Everyone must complete this form - no matter the mode of transportation - as it contains necessary information for the school. Log in to Skyward Family Access and navigate to the Online Forms tab to fill out one transportation registration form for each student in your family. If you have questions, contact the transportation office at (952) 491-8280.

Student Ethnicity Data

Every school district is required to report to the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) student data by race and ethnicity categories that are set by the federal government. MDE does not report individual student data to the federal government but does report the total number of students in various categories in each school. Please log in to Skyward Family Access and select the Ethnicity/Race tab to report data for each student. If you filled out this information in the past, you do not need to do it again.

Student Digital Equity Survey

MDE is asking that all Westonka Public Schools families complete a Student Digital Equity Survey for each student in their household. The survey can be completed in Skyward Family Access by completing the digital form in the Student Information tab (click on “Request Changes for Student,” select “Student Information” and scroll down to “Technology at Home”) or by using the paper form included in the back-to-school mailer (arriving in mailboxes in August).

This survey collects information on student access to the Internet and electronic devices used for schoolwork in the student’s home. Westonka Public Schools may use this information to identify students that could benefit from additional supports to make sure they can access learning opportunities outside the classroom or school building. It is important that we gather accurate information from every student so that each student and family has the equipment, help and support needed.

The information you provide in this survey will be reported to MDE. MDE may provide state- or school-level summary data—without personal, identifying information—to the Governor, legislators, agency staff and external partners who have established data sharing agreements and protocols. Westonka Public Schools will not share your personal, identifying information provided in this survey with others without your consent.

If you need assistance with Skyward Family Access, please contact Student Management Systems Coordinator Kyle Hoogeveen at (952) 491-8024.
