Rotary Interact Club Spreads Warmth at Mary's Place
February 7, 2019 — The Mound Westonka High School Rotary Interact Club partnered with the Mound Westonka Rotary on a service project in January at Mary's Place (Sharing and Caring Hands) in Minneapolis. The high school students delivered caps and mittens to Mary's Place to be distributed to the residents there as needed.
Mary's Place is a transitional living environment for families in the Minneapolis area. After delivering the clothing, the Interact Club members spent time reading, playing and socializing with the resident children. This gave parents some free time to relax and/or run errands, according to Interact Club advisor Gary Wollner.
“As the Rotary director of the MWHS Interact group, it makes me proud to have a group of students who enjoy giving back to our community and surrounding areas,” said Wollner. “These students are truly making a difference in today’s world.”
