February 7, 2019 —Students at Grandview Middle School gathered at school on Friday night, Feb. 1, for the Winter Blast. The annual party was open to all students and included a DJ, open gym, dodgeball, volleyball, karaoke, movies and snacks. Students also enjoyed bingo, crafts and a creative photo booth.
Principal Christy Zachow said, "It was a lot of fun!"
Student council members, along with some amazing parent volunteers, stayed after school on Friday to set up and decorate. The volunteers helped to chaperone to make sure that each room was supervised, food was provided, the gyms were safe, pictures were taken and that things ran smoothly.
"It was a fun night," said advisor Katie Seehusen. "We had a fantastic group of parents who volunteered to help, even after having kids home for three straight days due to the weather. We couldn't pull off this event without them!”
