February 5, 2019 — Shirley Hills Primary School administrative assistant Karen Boser has been named the January 2019 recipient of the Westonka Way Award. New this school year, the award celebrates non-licensed Westonka Schools staff members who go above and beyond for families, students and other staff — because that's the Westonka Way!
Boser is in her 19th year working in the Shirley Hills front office, serving staff, students and families each day with a can-do attitude and a smile. She received multiple nominations for the award from her colleagues at Shirley Hills.
One nominator wrote: "Karen Boser is more than deserving of this award for her dedication to our school and students. She gives 110% every day. She is patient and kind and always has a smile on her face. Whenever I need her help, she stops what she is doing to help me in any way she can. She is organized and very hardworking. I feel so fortunate to have her working at Shirley Hills. I cannot imagine our building without her!"
Boser was described by other nominators as "the rock," "the lifeline," "the glue" and "the general manager" of Shirley Hills.
On Feb. 1, Superintendent Kevin Borg and Shirley Hills Principal Scott Eidsness presented Boser with a special plaque and two gift certificates for the Al & Alma’s Signature Sunday Brunch Cruise on Lake Minnetonka.
The Westonka Way Award will be presented monthly. To nominate an employee for the award, please use the Google Form.
