December 4, 2018 — You are invited to celebrate the season at the Mound Westonka High School Holiday Choir Concert on Monday, Dec. 17, at 7:30 p.m., in the Westonka Performing Arts Center. This year’s concert, under the direction of Kelly Newell, will include performances by Cantabile, Bel Canto, Concert Choir and Madd Jazz.
Choirs will be performing traditional selections such as "I Saw Three Ships", "Fum, Fum, Fum", "Good King Wenceslas" and "White Christmas," as well as choral treasures such as "The Snow" by Edward Elgar, with cellist Meghan McGuire, and a stunning arrangement of "The First Noel" by composer Dan Forrest.
The program includes some recognizable and beloved holiday arrangements to bring back special memories. Alumni and community members will be invited to join the choirs on the PAC stage to sing the “Hallelujah Chorus” by Handel.
Suggested donation at the door is $3 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens. Holiday cookie platters will also be sold at a cost of $5.
Newell said, “This concert will certainly put you in the holiday spirit!”
