Bowe Named November Winner of Westonka Way Award
November Westonka Way Award winner Kurt Bowe with a group of Grandview Middle School students
November 21, 2018 — Grandview Middle School paraprofessional Kurt Bowe has been named the November recipient of the Westonka Way Award. New this year, the award celebrates non-licensed Westonka Schools staff members who go above and beyond for families, students and other staff — because that's the Westonka Way!
Bowe began working in Westonka as an educational paraprofessional in December 2014. Prior to that, he was a football and track coach, and he continues to coach in those White Hawks sports programs.
"Kurt Bowe absolutely pours his heart and soul into our students, whether in the classroom, on the field coaching football and track and field, or in the weight room, helping out with the summer strength and conditioning program," one nominator wrote. "He is such a positive and great advocate for our school district and someone that we can always count on to do the right things."
On Tuesday morning, Superintendent Kevin Borg and members of the district administrative team presented Bowe with a special plaque and two gift certificates for the Al & Alma’s Signature Sunday Brunch Cruise on Lake Minnetonka.
The Westonka Way Award will be presented monthly. To nominate an employee for the award, please use the Google Form.
