Roxi Saholt Named February Winner of Westonka Way Award
February 23, 2021 — Grandview Middle School media tech paraprofessional Roxi Saholt has been named the February 2021 recipient of the Westonka Way Award. The monthly award celebrates non-licensed Westonka Public Schools staff members who go above and beyond for families, students and other staff—because that's the Westonka Way!
Saholt started in the district in 2010 as an early childhood special education paraprofessional before moving to Grandview in 2011. According to a nominator, when Saholt started in her position at the middle school, she was responsible for getting new books processed and helping students find good books to read. "She began reading voraciously so that she would have personal recommendations to share," the nominator wrote.
"As we've become 1-to-1 and added flexible learning spaces, [Saholt’s] job has evolved into much, much more," the nominator added. "She takes on each new challenge and wants to learn it all so that she can help the students and the teachers. Roxi is an important part of GMS, and we are so lucky to have her!"
On Tuesday afternoon, Grandview Principal Christy Zachow and Superintendent Kevin Borg presented Saholt with a special plaque and two gift certificates for the Al & Alma’s Signature Sunday Brunch Cruise on Lake Minnetonka.
The Westonka Way Award will be presented monthly throughout the school year. To nominate a non-licensed employee for the award, please use the Google Form.
