Wolf Ridge ELC Celebrates 50 Years
Hilltop Primary School students visiting Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center in May 2022.
September 21, 2022 — Most Westonka Public Schools graduates over the past few decades have had the opportunity to attend Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center, formerly called Camp Isabella, during their school careers. This year, Wolf Ridge ELC is celebrating 50 years of service as an environmental school in Finland, Minnesota, providing students an opportunity to learn about being environmental stewards and, most importantly, to grow as young people.
Established in 1971, Wolf Ridge is the largest accredited residential environmental education center in the United States and the first Environmental Learning Center of its kind to be accredited as a K-12 school. They offer over 50 classes and experiences to thousands of visiting students each year.
As part of its 50-year anniversary celebration, Wolf Ridge wants to hear your story. Wolf Ridge will be collecting stories from former students, teachers, and staff and will share some of their favorites on Instagram over the coming months.
