White Hawks Student-Athletes Sign College Letters of Intent

February 4, 2021 — Five White Hawks seniors have committed to pursuing academics and athletics at the college level next year. Grace Peterson, Logan Leonard, Carissa Richie, Josh Johnston and Brooke Pioske made their decisions official by signing National Letters of Intent. All were recognized by Mound Westonka High School on National Signing Day, February 3.
Grace Peterson will attend the Naval Academy and play lacrosse. Peterson, a three sport captain, is currently a member of the hockey team after playing tennis last fall. She looks forward to playing lacrosse in the spring. Peterson currently has a 3.986 GPA.
Logan Leonard signed to play D2 football at Augustana University. Coach Nick David said he is proud of all of Leonard’s hard work and dedication over the past four years. Leonard, who carries a 3.959 GPA, is currently a member of the basketball team and is captain in both of his sports.
Carissa Richie will play volleyball at Southern Utah. Richie, who has a GPA of 3.993, served as captain of the MWHS volleyball team.
Josh Johnston signed to join the University of Minnesota’s swim and dive team. Johnston, who is home-schooled, is captain of the MWHS swim team and a very good student-athlete.
Brooke Pioske signed to play D1 hockey at Lindenwood University next year. Coach Bob Kuehl said he is proud of Pioske’s hard work and can’t wait to watch her play next year. A two-year captain of the hockey team, Pioske is also a member of the tennis team. She carries a GPA of 3.979.
“Congrats to all of these student-athletes and good luck the remainder of the school year and beyond,” said Activities Director Jeff Peterson.
