November 30, 2021 — Westonka Community Theatre is once again hosting "It's A Wonderful Life: A LIVE Radio Play" this 2021 holiday season!

In this version of the play, the beloved American holiday classic comes to life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of a small ensemble cast that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve. The colorful character actors at WBFR in New York City’s Playhouse of the Air portray the colorful characters in Joe Landry’s adaptation of Frank Capra’s 1946 film starring Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed.

WCT welcomes director Jamie Harms once again. Harms has assembled an amazing cast, including some new faces and several returning from last year's production:

  • STAGE MANAGER - Kris Selting
  • FREDDIE FILMORE - Seth Worden & Nicolas Doepnerhove (Seth will play Joseph and Nicolas will play Clarence as well)
  • JAKE LAURENTS - Graydon Royce
  • SALLY APPLEWHITE - Monica Shukle
  • LANA SHERWOOD - Melissa Pickert
  • HARRY ‘JAZZBO’ HEYWOOD - Marc Doepner-Hove
  • WILLIE KURTZ - Geoge Linkert

The show will be presented in person at the Mound Westonka High School Little Theater December 10 at 7 p.m. and December 11 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. You can purchase tickets for specific show at In a continued effort to support our community all profits from this production will be donated to our local charities, WeCAN and the Westonka Food Shelf.

Mark your calendars! We look forward to seeing you as a LIVE studio audience!
