February 6, 2020 — Rocking a “Totally Awesome ‘80s” vibe, students at Grandview Middle School gathered at school Jan. 31 for the Winter Blast. The annual party was open to all students and included a DJ, open gym, dodgeball, volleyball, karaoke, movies and snacks. Students also enjoyed bingo, crafts and a creative photo booth.
Principal Christy Zachow said, "It was a lot of fun, thanks to dozens of parent and teacher volunteers who helped make the fun event possible!"
Student council members, along with some amazing parent volunteers, stayed after school on Friday to set up and decorate. The volunteers helped to chaperone to make sure that each room was supervised, food was provided, the gyms were safe, pictures were taken and that things ran smoothly.
“We had a ton of awesome parent volunteers!” said advisor Katie Seehusen. “Our student council students and parents were fantastic with helping with the set-up to provide a fun night for everyone.”
