Super Hero Safer Tweens Class Offered

May 23, 2019 — Western Communities Action Network (WeCAN) will host a free Super Hero Kids™ Safer Tweens Training for kids in fourth- through sixth-grade and their parent on Tuesday, June 18, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

This program builds on the organization’s elementary-age training and offers critical elements of the adult class in an age-appropriate context. Students are empowered by learning strategies to recognize and avoid unsafe situations. The tweens class builds on the "Get Away and Tell!" message as well as sharing how to escape an uncomfortable or dangerous situation. The message encourages students to recognize when his or her "Creep Meter" goes off. Trusting their intuition is key to avoiding unwanted behaviors.

Call WeCAN at 952-472-0742 or email clientservices@wecanmn.org to pre-register you and your child. A free pizza dinner will be provided, followed by the presentation. WeCAN is located at 5213 Shoreline Drive in Mound.

Super Hero Kids™ recognized a need for training in this sensitive area and created a unique platform. This is the first program of its kind in the nation. For more information about the program, visit https://www.superhero-kids.org/.
