Brave the Elements at the First Polar Plunge in Mound

January 11, 2019 — Brave souls from Westonka have accepted that challenge: Minnesota Nice meets Minnesotan Ice! Once again, the Westonka Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) will be participating in the Special Olympics of Minnesota Polar Plunge as Team Westonka. For the first time this year the Plunge is taking place in Mound, on Jan. 26 at Surfside Park.

Many have already pledged to take the plunge and have begun fundraising for this amazing event. Are you brave enough to accept the challenge? You can jump individually or join one of the many Westonka teams that will be braving the frozen lake on this special day.

Too chicken to jump? You can also donate to the cause, wear your Westonka gear, and come and cheer on the teams that will be taking the plunge on Jan. 26 starting at 1 p.m.

Contact Shannon D'Arpino at or Meredith Boo at with questions OR go to to join Team Westonka or donate.
