  • Speech Students Compete at Nationals

    The Westonka Speech Team concluded the 2020-21 season with its first-ever appearance at the National Tournament held by the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA). Class of 2021 graduate Josh Nkhata and rising junior Ilana Andrev represented Mound Westonka High School at this prestigious tournament.

  • Westonka Foodies Offer Free Summer Meals

    The Westonka Foodies will be hosting the Free Summer Meals program again this year. Curbside pickup at Grandview Middle School begins Tuesday, June 8. Hilltop Primary School curbside opens Monday, June 14.

  • Westonka Honors Retirees, Long-Time Staff

    This spring Westonka Public Schools recognized 14 staff members who have retired since last summer, or are planning to retire at the end of the school year, as well as 22 employees who had years of service milestones. In total the staff recognized this year have given 668 years of service to the Westonka district and its students and families.

  • Westonka Celebrates the Class of 2021

    Mound Westonka High School honored the 186 members of the 2021 graduating class June 2 at an outdoor ceremony on Haddorff Field. Following a year of uncertainty over the pandemic restrictions that would be in place on graduation day, the Class of 2021 enthusiastically accepted diplomas in front of family, friends, teachers and school staff.

  • Hilltop Outdoor Adventures Engage Fourth-Graders

    Fourth-graders at Hilltop Primary School had the opportunity to participate in a week of outdoor adventures last week in place of the traditional trip to Wolf Ridge. Students visited Lowry Nature Center, Camp Christmas Tree and Camp Ihduhapi, in addition to spending some quality time with naturalist Brett Sieberer from Three Rivers Park District.

  • Super Team Day Delights at Shirley Hills

    When the weather forecast for the scheduled Super Team Day looked rainy and cold, Shirley Hills staff members acted quickly to change the date from Thursday to Wednesday last week. The result was a perfect sunny and pleasant day for all grade level students to spend most of the day outdoors with their teachers.
