October and November Meetings 1915
It’s not surprising that the newly-formed school board for the consolidated high school district met three times in October 1915 and three times in November; they had quite the to-do list!

January 10, 1916 Meeting
Bills were paid for custodial work, report cards and other supplies and for the driving of the school wagon

February Meetings 1916
Two school board meetings were held in February 1916. Action continued to be on hold regarding the high school building.

November 1917
In Nov. 1917, instead of walking to a nearby school building, students were transported in school buses to their new consolidated high school.

December 1917
High school students began their day together in the third-floor assembly room, all students, grades 9-12. They each had a locker nearby for books and coats. This was a place to gather and study.

January 1918
According to Fran Chladek Murphy (class of 1933), Mound Consolidated High School students took different elective classes beginning in ninth grade.

From the very beginning of the Mound Consolidated High School District, the school board decided to provide music opportunities.

May 1918
School activities - including dances, the newspaper and clubs - have been popular since the earliest days of MCHS.

June 1918
In 1948, the caps and gowns were maroon and white for the Mound Consolidated High School graduation. Graduation was at night, with a party afterwards.
