Student Senate Hosts MWHS Staff Appreciation Events
Mound Westonka High School students found multiple ways to thank their favorite teachers and staff members during Staff Appreciation Week, held the week of November 14 in conjunction with American Education Week. Organized by Student Senate, the week’s activities were designed to make each staff member feel special.

The community is invited to attend the Mound Westonka High School Winter Band Concert on Monday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. at the Westonka Performing Arts Center. Featured groups include the high school Concert Band, Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble, directed by Gretchen Chilson.

Superintendent Kevin Borg and Westonka Education Minnesota surprised five Westonka Public Schools educators Nov. 11 with their respective school’s top teaching award. Congratulations to Westonka’s 2022-23 building Teachers of the Year: Angela LaJoy from Westonka Early Learning, Melissa Bray from Shirley Hills Primary School, Lauren Singsank from Hilltop Primary School, Freya Klein from Grandview Middle School and Greg Sullivan from Mound Westonka High School.

Volunteers Pack Meals for Feed My Starving Children
Mound Westonka High School hosted a Feed My Starving Children Mobile Packing Event Nov. 4 and 5. A total of 276 students, school staff and community members packed 93,528 meals during the event – enough to feed 256 kids for an entire year!

The Annual Mound Westonka Band Booster Fall Boutique Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, November 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Grandview Middle School. Shop for the holidays with over 40 vendors and enjoy food, raffles, and music from Westonka band students!

MWHS Theatre to Present 'Oliver!'
“Oliver!” is a musical theatre masterpiece, perfectly showcasing the talents of a large ensemble cast, including Grandview Middle School performers, as they bring these classic characters and score to life. The MWHS production will be held at the Westonka Performing Arts Center November 11-12 and November 18-19 at 7 p.m., as well as November 20 at 2 p.m.
