  • Join Us in Honoring Westonka's Gold Medalists

    In the spirit of the 2022 Winter Olympics, Westonka Public Schools will be highlighting the Olympic efforts of many that have allowed us to keep our schools operating during challenging circumstances this year. During the month of February, Westonka will be highlighting four “gold medal” groups directly tied to our schools: substitutes, educators/school staff, healthcare workers and transportation staff.

  • Students Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.

    “Life’s persistent and most urgent question is, what are you doing for others?” Westonka Public Schools students spent some time this month reflecting on the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Although the holiday that celebrates the civil rights leader’s birthday was a no-school day for students, educators took the opportunity during the month to have students learn about King's work and his contributions to society.

  • Grandview Presents Virtual Art Show

    The Grandview Middle School art show has always been a showcase for wonderful artwork and a means for talented students to be recognized for their work. Even though the school was able to host the traditional winter art show in December at the Performing Arts Center, art teacher Hannah Loucks followed up on the success of last year’s virtual art show and put one together again this year.

  • Schools Conduct Holiday Drives for WeCAN

    Students at every school in the Westonka School District embraced the holiday spirit throughout December by collecting a variety of items for families served by the Western Communities Action Network (WeCAN). "Thank you to all of the Westonka students, parents and staff who made donations to WeCAN this season," said WeCAN Executive Director Christopher Anderson.
