MWHS Students Perform with U of M Honor Band
Mound Westonka High School senior Sullivan Rothenberger, and junior Ava Daum, were selected to the 2025 University of Minnesota High School Honor Band. Members of this prestigious ensemble were chosen by audition in November.

Annual Regatta Challenges Students' Engineering Skills
While regattas are usually reserved for warmer weather, engineering students at Mound Westonka High School launched their cardboard crafts into the pool Jan. 15 in the annual Engineering Regatta. A total of 13 boats created by students in Intro to Engineering, Engineering Design and Development, and Principles of Engineering classes competed in this year’s event.

Mound Westonka High School will be sending 163 students to the state DECA competition this year, following strong performances at the District III DECA Conference held Jan. 7 in Bloomington.

Third Annual SEAC Skate & Sled Event Brings Community Together
The third annual SEAC Skate & Sled event, held January 11 at Shirley Hills Primary School, was a resounding success. Organized by the Westonka Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC), the event brought together families, volunteers, and local organizations for an afternoon of winter fun and community spirit.

Westonka School Board Approves Changes to 2024-25 Calendar, Adjusts Final Days for Middle and High School
The Westonka School Board has approved changes to the 2024-25 school calendar, impacting the last two days of school at Grandview Middle School and Mound Westonka High School. To accommodate extensive summer construction, middle and high school students will not be in their school buildings on June 2 and 3, 2025.
