  • MWHS Senate Hosts Staff Appreciation Week

    Students at Mound Westonka High School took part in a variety of activities to show their appreciation for staff and teachers during National Education Week Nov. 18-22. The annual Staff Appreciation Week was organized by Student Senate, which worked hard to develop a weeklong plan that focused on the staff but really centered on the students’ involvement in thanking and recognizing the great staff at MWHS.

  • Projects Spark Imagination at Shirley Hills

    Up-and-coming scientists, artists, writers and researchers took center stage at the Shirley Hills Primary School Imagination Fair on Dec. 5. The annual event provides a wonderful opportunity for students to show creativity and imagination through the display of projects. A total of 19 projects were presented by students in kindergarten through fourth grade.

  • Distinguished Students Honored at MWHS

    Mound Westonka High School students who exhibited outstanding effort, citizenship and academic achievement for the first semester of the 2019-2020 school year were honored at the Distinguished Student Breakfast at the high school Dec. 6.

  • MWHS Choirs to Present Holiday Concert Dec. 16

    You are invited to celebrate the season at the Mound Westonka High School Holiday Choir Concert on Monday, Dec. 16, at 7:30 p.m., at the Westonka Performing Arts Center. This year’s concert, under the direction of Kelly Newell, will include performances by Cantabile, Bel Canto, Concert Choir and Madd Jazz.

  • Shirley Hills Kindergartners Celebrate Thanksgiving

    Shirley Hills Primary School kindergartners enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast together Dec. 2 to celebrate friendship and thankfulness. The feast was preceded by a viewing of Charles Schultz’s “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.” Students embraced the message that what truly matters is celebrating the holiday together, regardless of the meal.

  • MWHS Hosts Community Collection Drive for WeCAN

    The winter holidays are an exciting time for most people; however, not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to afford everyday items. With that in mind, Mound Westonka High School Student Senate is hosting a week-long collection drive Dec. 5-12.
