Technology Resources

Technology is one of many tools that support teaching and learning in Westonka Public Schools. When used purposefully, technology can enhance learning experiences, encourage student engagement and provide students with resources that help them learn, create and connect.

Digital citizenship, responsibly using the internet, is a critical part of what we will constantly be communicating to all students. We would like have a common voice with you as a parents. We have adopted six simple statements: Protect yourself, Protect others, Respect yourself, Respect others, Respect intellectual property, and Protect intellectual property.

We recommend a fantastic website to parents called Common Sense Media. The content is updated daily, and they have wonderful reviews and articles on current media topics.

Digital Technology Tools

Westonka Public Schools uses a variety of digital tools to support student learning. Technology vendors and software are utilized to support work as we help all students develop the skills necessary to succeed in an ever-changing world.

Please reference our inventory of our curriculum, testing, and assessment tools, which includes an outline of the student data elements within each tool: Software Inventory and Student Data Elements. This list is maintained and communicated annually to all families at the start of the school year. If you have any questions or concerns about Westonka's digital tools, please reach out to Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning Mark Femrite, Technology Directory Cory Wolf or Technology & District Operations Support Specialist Eric Heistad.
