Early Childhood Screening
Early Childhood Screening is recommended for all children between the ages of three to five years. It is also a state requirement in order to attend kindergarten at a public school in Minnesota.
The free Early Childhood Screening includes a review of all growth and development, immunizations, hearing and vision. Its purpose is to affirm a child’s development and identify any early needs for educational assistance or community resources. It is a snapshot of your child on that particular day and time, not a predictor of future success.
The best age to screen at is roughly three years, six months. Parents who have questions or concerns before their child turns age three should call (952) 933-GROW. Any additional questions can be directed to Sarah Grimm, Program Coordinator, at (952) 491-8580 or grimms@westonka.k12.mn.us.
