From early childhood education through high school, Westonka Public Schools has professional teaching staff and qualified childcare professionals to help you and your child along the way.

Our schools are small, so they really do feel like family—we know every child by name and make it our goal to help each child be successful. Yet we are big enough to offer the opportunities you will find at much bigger schools—from academics to athletics to the arts—while preparing your child for their own real-life success story.

How to Enroll

You are invited to register your students using our online Enrollment Portal. Please submit your application, including the mandatory registration documents, to avoid a delay in processing. You can attach documents during the online enrollment process.

Option 1: Enroll Online

New Westonka Families: Please use the New Student Enrollment Portal.
Existing Westonka Families: If you have an existing Skyward Family Access account, you can enroll another child by logging in and clicking on the New Student Online Enrollment tab in the upper lefthand corner of your Skyward Home Page.

If you prefer, you may also register in person at your child's school. Please call or email the school contact person listed below to schedule an appointment:

Enrollment Checklist

Families need to submit the following items to register their child(ren) in Westonka Schools:

Current immunization records (must be on file to start school)

Why Westonka?

Open Enrollment

Open enrollment allows families who live outside school district boundaries to enroll their children in the Westonka Public Schools. Enrollment is by application only; the priority deadline for applying for open enrollment every year is January 15.

If submitting an open enrollment application after January 15, please call the superintendent's office at (952) 491-8007 to determine if you are eligible for a waiver of the deadline.

Download and return the Statewide Enrollment Options Form (you can attach this document during the online enrollment process) or call the superintendent's office at (952) 491-8007.

Please note: Open enrollment is closed for 7th grade for the 2026-27 school year. If you still wish to apply, your student will be added to a wait list.

Open Enrollment Form
For those enrolling who live outside school district boundaries. To be turned in by Feb. 1.
Minnesota Language Survey - Non-English Versions
To be completed along with the K-12 Registration Form. The English version of this survey is attached to the registration form. See this document for Chinese, Hindi, Russian, Spanish, Hmong and Somali versions.
In-District Transfer Request
If you live in the Westonka School District but would like your child to attend the primary school outside of your assigned attendance area, you must complete an In-District Transfer Request. This form should be turned in with your student's enrollment no later than February 1.

Health Services Forms

Immunization Form
Minnesota law requires children enrolled in child care, early childhood education, or school to be immunized against certain diseases, unless the child is medically or non-medically exempt.
Administration of Any Medication During the School Day
Parents of students requesting that any medication be administered during school hours by school staff are required to complete this form.
Kindergarten Registration Health Care Summary
To be completed by health care provider and submitted with Kindergarten registration materials.
New Student Health Care Summary
To be completed by a parent/guardian of a new student in grades 1-12.
Allergy/Anaphylaxis Action Plan
If your child has a severe allergy that requires medication and/or an EpiPen, please complete the Allergy Action Plan Form. Return it to the school's health office with the medication your child may need in the event of exposure to an allergen.
Asthma Action Plan
This form provides consent for school to administer asthma medicine(s) as provided by parent or guardian and allows the child to carry the inhaler for which the provider has assessed ability and if approved by the school nurse. Plan given and reviewed with patient and/or parent. If your child has asthma, please complete the asthma action plan whether or not your child uses an inhaler at school.
Diabetes School Guide
This plan should be completed by the student’s personal diabetes health care team, including the parents/guardians. It should be reviewed with relevant school staff and copies should be kept in a place that can be accessed easily by the school nurse, trained diabetes personnel, and other authorized personnel.
Seizure Action Plan
Once this Seizure Action Plan has been filled out, take a copy for the school nurse to keep.

Immunizations

State law requires that each student in a Minnesota school be protected from childhood diseases by having immunizations. Immunizations include diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis, (DTP/DTaP/Tdap); polio; measles, mumps and rubella (MMR); varicella (chicken pox) and hepatitis B.

Kindergarten

Students starting kindergarten MUST have immunization paperwork on file in the health office before they can start school on the first Thursday of the school year.

Required immunizations include:

Last DTP/DTaP after age 4
Last polio after age 4
Two MMR vaccinations (measles, mumps, rubella)
Two varicella vaccinations or date of chicken pox disease
Three hepatitis B vaccinations

Or a signed and notarized exemption on the Student Immunization Form.

Middle & High School

Students starting seventh grade must have an updated tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap/Td) booster vaccination given after age 7 (usually given at age 11). They must also have two MMR vaccinations, two varicella vaccinations or proof of chicken pox disease, three hepatitis B vaccinations, one meningococcal (meningitis) vaccination or a signed and notarized exemption on the Student Immunization Form. Students must bring a record of their immunizations to the school office when they enroll.
