WHS Hosts Section 2AA Large Group Band Contest at PAC

The WHS Wind Ensemble performs at the Section 2AA Large Group Band Contest.

The Westonka High School music program had the honor of hosting the Section 2AA MSHSL Large Group Band Contest at the Performing Arts Center on February 23.  The bands were each adjudicated by three judges who then shared verbal and written feedback with the groups.

Both the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble delivered fantastic performances that yielded outstanding results, according to band director Christopher Moore. The Symphonic Band earned a highly commendable “Excellent” rating, while the Wind Ensemble concluded the event with a phenomenal performance, securing a “Superior” rating.

“Beyond their musical achievements on stage, I am exceptionally proud of our students for their leadership and organizational skills,” said Moore. “Their hard work behind the scenes ensured the event ran seamlessly and made visiting schools and adjudicators feel incredibly welcome and supported."
