WeCAN Seeks School Supplies for Ready to Learn Program

As summer flies by, many families in our community are already looking ahead to the upcoming school year. To ensure every student is equipped for success, WeCAN is collecting school supplies now through August 3.

WeCAN is especially in need of the following items:

• Ticonderoga #2 sharpened pencils
• Large, sturdy backpacks
• Wide-lined spiral notebooks
• Flair/felt tip markers
• Dry erase markers (black and colored)
• Sharpies
• Highlighters
• Red pens
• Headphones
• Reusable squeezable water bottles
• Loose leaf paper
• Color crayon box - 24 count

Donations can be dropped off at 5213 Shoreline Drive in Mound, Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Prefer to shop online? Visit Amazon and Target to find WeCAN wish lists. You can have items delivered directly to WeCAN—just be sure to mark them as a gift so you’ll receive a donation receipt. Financial contributions are also greatly appreciated and will help fill in any remaining supply gaps.

Families in need of school supplies for their children are invited to call WeCAN to register. Distribution day is Tuesday, August 18 at the WeCAN office. Registration and appointment are required by calling 952-472-0742.
