Cami Kuhbander Named May Winner of Westonka Way Award

Transportation dispatcher Cami Kubander has been named the May 2026 recipient of the Westonka Way Award. The monthly award celebrates non-licensed Westonka Public Schools staff members who go above and beyond for families, students and other staff—because that's the Westonka Way!

Prior to her work with Westonka Bus Service, Kuhbander was a member of the Westonka Foodies for 20 years, serving as both a line server and cashier from 2001 to 2021. A nominator wrote:

Cami is both helpful, kind and funny. Working in transportation is a non-stop lesson in troubleshooting. No matter how many curveballs we throw at her, she always helps with a smile and a sense of humor. So often, transportation requests are coming from families in crisis and Cami never makes those requesting feel like they are a bother. On top of her work in the transportation office, I often witness Cami driving bus and often donning a Link Crew T-shirt or Westonka attire. I really admire how much she cares about Westonka.

On Monday morning, Superintendent Kevin Borg was joined by Transportation Director Angela Sheridan and members of the Westonka Bus Service team to present Kuhbander with a special plaque and gift card for the Al & Alma’s Signature Sunday Brunch Cruise on Lake Minnetonka.
