Supporting Our Students and Families
Borg Report January 29, 2026
At Westonka, we often talk about “Small School Advantages, Big School Opportunities.” At the heart of this message is our commitment to creating a safe, welcoming environment where all students can excel in their learning and explore their strengths and interests.
These past weeks, the power of the relationships that form in this “small school” environment has been heartwarming. As parents, you can be proud of the kindness and care our staff and students have shown to one another. At the same time, I recognize that this is a challenging time for students and families.
With that in mind, I wanted to pass on information regarding our support team in the event that your family is in need of assistance. Our community is diverse in their needs, and our support is for all students.
Please also feel comfortable reaching out to me or to your building administrator if you have any questions regarding the safety or wellbeing of your child.
Wishing everyone my best,
Kevin Borg, Superintendent

Westonka Support Team Resources
We know that families in our community may be facing challenges right now for a variety of reasons. Westonka Schools strive to be places of safety, stability, and belonging for every student and family.
We recognize that uncertainty or difficult circumstances can affect students and families in different ways, and we want you to know that you are not alone. Support and resources are available at school, including:
- Assistance with food and essential household items
- Counseling and mental health services
- Connections to community resources
Families are encouraged to reach out to their school social workers, psychologists or counselors with any concerns, or if their child may need additional support. Working together, we can continue to support one another and ensure our schools remain caring, connected communities.
