Close the Achievement Gap(s) Among All Groups
The achievement gap as measured by the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) in reading and math between our highest performing student group, WHITE, and our two lowest student groups, FREE/REDUCED LUNCH (students below the poverty line) and SPECIAL EDUCATION, will decrease to no more than a 10 percentage point difference by Spring 2021.
Because of the mandate that all Minnesota schools move to distance learning in spring 2020, the Minnesota Department of Education canceled all state testing. Therefore, no MCA data was available to track achievement gap reduction. It is anticipated that the MCAs will be offered in spring 2021, and this goal can be addressed during the 2021-22 school year.
